The Public Transit program offers affordable transportation services for older adults. This program operates on a flat fee structure where a one-way trip incurs a base fare of $1.00 within the initial "Grid Area," with an additional charge of 50 cents for each extra "Grid Area" traveled. Older adults qualify for a reduced fare, paying only half the regular price. To utilize this program, older adults need to book their rides in advance, typically a few days prior to the intended travel date. Payment for the services can be made either by cash or check. The transportation is provided via shared van rides, ensuring a cost-effective and efficient mode of travel for older adults in the community. Additionally, the program offers door-to-door and curb-to-curb transportation services, enhancing accessibility and convenience for older adults with mobility limitations.
