Provides rides for any purpose, as long as you meet one of the following criteria: you are 60+ years old, or you have a disability.
The Public Transportation program offers a convenient and affordable transportation option for older adults aged 60 and above. This program operates on donations and provides a variety of pricing options for different trip destinations. For out-of-county trips, older adults can travel to Marion on Tuesdays for a donation request of $25.00 round trip, to Mansfield on Wednesdays for the same cost, and to Columbus on Thursdays for a donation request of $40.00 round trip.
Within the county, older adults can benefit from even more affordable rates, with a donation request of $4.00 for one-way travel between cities and $3.00 for one-way travel within the same city. Disabled passengers within the county can travel for $2.00 one-way, with proof of disability required. Riders are required to schedule their trips in advance, ensuring a smooth and organized transportation experience. The program offers shared van rides, with door-to-door transportation provided for added convenience. This program is free of charge, making it an accessible and practical option for older adults looking to get around their community.
