Provides rides for any purpose, as long as you meet one of the following criteria: you have a disability.
The Paratransit Access Line (PAL) is a specialized transportation service designed to provide convenient and accessible travel options for individuals with disabilities or mobility challenges. The program offers transportation via bus or train, allowing older adults to safely reach their destinations within the community. PAL operates on a flat fee basis, with each one-way trip priced at $4, and offers the option to apply for a reduced fare card for eligible individuals.
To utilize the PAL service, riders are required to schedule their transportation a few days in advance, ensuring seamless coordination of travel arrangements. Riders can conveniently pay for their trips using checks, pre-payment, or cash, making the service accessible to a wide range of individuals. Furthermore, PAL provides shared rides, allowing passengers to travel together and potentially reduce costs.
One of the key features of the PAL program is its commitment to providing curb-to-curb transportation, ensuring that riders are safely transported from their pick-up location to their destination. Additionally, the program allows individuals to travel with their service animals, promoting inclusivity and accommodating diverse needs. For older adults seeking a reliable and accommodating transportation option, PAL offers a vital service that prioritizes comfort, convenience, and accessibility.
