Transportation Services is a comprehensive transportation program designed to meet the needs of older adults. This program offers non-emergency medical transportation through taxi services, public transit options such as buses and trains, and private rides via car or van. Riders have the flexibility to schedule their trips in advance, ensuring that they can plan their journeys to medical appointments, grocery shopping, or social outings.
Membership in this program includes benefits such as door-to-door transportation, shared rides, and assistance with packages or bags. Pricing for the program includes a $100.00 individual membership fee or a $150.00 family membership fee, which may be billed quarterly. For those who may have difficulty affording the membership fee, assistance is available by contacting a Social Worker at the Amherst Center for Senior Services.
Payment options for the program include insurance, vouchers, coupons, donations, Medicaid payments, pre-payment, credit card, check, and cash. Rides can be scheduled on-demand or on a fixed schedule, with the option for a driver to wait for the passenger during errands or appointments. Service animals are welcome, and riders can expect reliable and convenient transportation services tailored to their specific needs.
