Provides rides for only the following purposes: medical appointments, or grocery shopping. Also, you must meet at least one of these criteria: you are 60+ years old. No membership is required.
The Transportation Services Program facilitates rides for older adults and individuals with mobility needs. Operating on a donation-based model, this program ensures that older adults have access to transportation services without any cost burden. By scheduling rides in advance, riders can secure their transportation for medical appointments, social outings, or other essential trips that they may need to make. The program offers shared rides, allowing multiple riders to travel together, promoting a sense of community and reducing individual transportation costs.
With a commitment to providing curb-to-curb transportation, the program ensures that riders are assisted from the curb outside their residence to the curb at their destination. This feature is especially beneficial for older adults who may need extra support in getting in and out of vehicles safely. By offering this service, the Transportation Services Program strives to enhance the mobility and independence of older adults, enabling them to engage actively in various activities and maintain a connected lifestyle within the community.
Service Area
Out-of-county transportation is also available but limited to non-emergency medical appointments. The service area extends as far as Morristown and across the line into Warren and Passaic counties as well as into Port Jervis, NY, and Milford, PA.
