Crosstown Transportation is a versatile non-emergency medical transportation program designed to assist older adults with getting to their medical appointments and other essential destinations. This public transit program offers convenient transportation via taxi, providing older adults with private rides in a comfortable and reliable manner. Riders are required to schedule their rides at least one day in advance, allowing for efficient planning and coordination of transportation needs. One key aspect of Crosstown Transportation is its affordability and flexibility in payment options. Riders can pay for their rides using insurance, vouchers, coupons, or even make donations towards their transportation costs. The program's pricing structure is straightforward, with each one-way ride typically costing $3.00, payable by voucher presented at the time of the ride. Additionally, rides to specific healthcare facilities such as Penn Medicine Princeton Health and Princeton Fitness & Wellness Center are offered free of charge, making healthcare access easier for older adults using the program. Crosstown Transportation also accommodates various needs of older adults by providing paratransit services, assistance with packages or bags, and allowing service animals to accompany riders. With features like door-to-door transportation, on-demand scheduling, and a driver wait service for running errands or attending appointments, this program aims to enhance the overall mobility and independence of older adults in the community. Whether it's a trip to the doctor's office, a social visit, or any other destination, Crosstown Transportation strives to make transportation accessible, convenient, and reliable for older adults.
