The program utilizes buses, trains, and vans to offer shared rides, promoting a social and cost-effective way to travel. To utilize this service, older adults are encouraged to schedule their rides ahead of time, typically a few days in advance, to ensure on-time pick-up and drop-off. The program caters to a variety of needs, including trips to essential locations like the Windsor Nutrition site, Social Services, Health Department, grocery stores, pharmacies, and the post office. Additionally, special accommodations can be made for medical transportation when necessary, prioritizing the health and well-being of participants. With a focus on convenience and accessibility, the Transportation Benefit Program provides curb-to-curb transportation, ensuring that older adults can navigate their daily routines with ease.
