The Human Services Transportation program offers a convenient and affordable public transit service tailored to meet the transportation needs of older adults in the community. This program relies on donations and charges a flat fee for its services. While generally there is no cost to the rider, some agencies may opt to implement a fee to help with operational expenses. Within the county, rides are priced at $5.00 per trip, and for destinations outside the county, the fare is set at $15.00 per ride.
Riders have the option to access transportation via bus or train, with the program focusing on shared rides to maximize efficiency. To utilize this service, older adults are required to schedule their rides in advance, typically a few days prior to the intended date of travel. Requests for transportation are reviewed individually to accommodate as many older adults as possible. It's advised to contact the program by 12 noon the business day before the scheduled ride to confirm availability.
Human Services Transportation ensures a seamless curb-to-curb transportation experience, providing older adults with a reliable and accessible means of getting around their community at no additional cost.
