Public Transit is a versatile transportation program tailored to meet the needs of older adults seeking non-emergency medical transportation and more. Riders can utilize this program for their transportation needs by scheduling rides at least one day in advance, offering a convenient way to access essential services. The program provides various modes of transportation, including taxi services, car rides, buses, and trains, ensuring that riders have options that suit their preferences.
To make the program accessible to a wider range of older adults, Public Transit accepts various forms of payments, including insurance, vouchers, coupons, donations, and Medicaid payments. Pricing details are structured to cater to different budget constraints, with a One Way Fare set at $1.25 and a Reduced Fare option at $0.60. Moreover, the program offers additional features such as paratransit services, allowing riders with packages or bags and accommodating service animals during transit.
Whether you need a ride on short notice or prefer to schedule in advance, Public Transit offers flexibility with on-demand scheduling and fixed route options. The program strives to enhance the transportation experience by providing door-to-door and curb-to-curb services, ensuring that older adults can travel safely and comfortably to their destinations.
