The Demand Response Transportation program offers a non-emergency medical transportation service for older adults, providing access to transportation via taxi for individuals residing in Jones County and Pamlico County. This public transit program allows riders to schedule rides in advance, with pricing set at $2 per trip for residents of the specified counties. Additionally, full fare for The LOOP service is $1, with half fare set at $0.50. This program, classified as a paratransit service, is designed to assist older adults with their transportation needs, including providing private rides and accommodating service animals. Riders can utilize various payment methods such as insurance, vouchers, donations, and Medicaid payments, ensuring accessibility and convenience.
