Durham Connect is a flexible transportation service designed to cater to the diverse needs of individuals seeking non-emergency medical transportation in the area. Utilizing a convenient hourly rate system, Durham Connect offers private rides in taxis or cars, ensuring a comfortable and personalized travel experience. This program also includes paratransit services, accommodating individuals with disabilities and providing assistance with packages or bags as needed. To access the program, riders are required to schedule their trips in advance, typically at least a day ahead, with the option to book on-demand rides to suit immediate needs. Durham Connect accepts various forms of payment, including insurance, vouchers, donations, and Medicaid payments, making it accessible to a wide range of individuals. While the initial $5 of each ride is covered by the program, any additional costs incurred beyond this amount are the responsibility of the rider. Moreover, Durham Connect prioritizes passenger convenience by allowing for on-demand scheduling, offering shared rides, and ensuring door-to-door or curb-to-curb transportation services. Service Area

Durham Connect – formerly called GoDurham Connect – is a microtransit pilot program that allows riders to take a ride between their homes and bus stops or shopping centers, schools, libraries, and employment within a specific service area. The service includes two zones – one in East Durham and another in North Durham – both of which are in areas with limited fixed-route service.
