Provides rides for any purpose, to all people, and no membership is required.

Durham Connect is a public transit program designed to provide convenient and affordable transportation options for older adults in the area. Through this program, riders can access bus or train services to travel to their desired destinations. One of the key benefits of Durham Connect is that the first $5 of each ride is covered by the program, making it a cost-effective option for older adults to get around the city. Riders can easily schedule their transportation in advance on a fixed schedule, ensuring that they have reliable transportation to commute to appointments, run errands, or visit friends and family. While the program is free of charge, any costs beyond the initial $5 per ride will be the responsibility of the rider. Payments for additional costs can be made in cash or by check, offering flexibility for older adults participating in the program. Durham Connect follows fixed routes to various locations, providing a structured and efficient way for older adults to travel within the community. By offering a subsidy for the first part of each ride and accommodating different payment methods, this program aims to support older adults in maintaining their independence and staying connected to the resources and activities that matter to them.

Service Area

Durham Connect – formerly called GoDurham Connect – is a microtransit pilot program that allows riders to take a ride between their homes and bus stops or shopping centers, schools, libraries, and employment within a specific service area. The service includes two zones – one in East Durham and another in North Durham – both of which are in areas with limited fixed-route service.
