The Senior Transportation program offers non-emergency medical transportation for older adults through a public transit service using taxis, cars, vans, buses, or trains. Riders are required to schedule their rides in advance, typically at least a day or a few days prior, with the option to schedule on-demand rides as needed. The program accepts various payment methods such as insurance, vouchers, donations, and credit cards, while also allowing Medicaid payments and cash transactions.
Riders can benefit from door-to-door or curb-to-curb transportation, with the option of fixed route services or private rides based on their preference. The program provides assistance with packages or bags and allows service animals to accompany riders. Pricing structures may include hourly rates, flat fees, or charges based on mileage. Additionally, the program offers the convenience of a driver waiting for the passenger during errands or appointments, enhancing the overall transportation experience for older adults.
