The Volunteer Transportation program offers a valuable service for older adults who may need assistance with transportation. This program allows older adults to schedule free rides via car or van, helping them access important destinations such as medical appointments or grocery stores. In addition to offering transportation, Volunteer Transportation volunteers are also available to help riders with carrying packages or bags, ensuring a comfortable and convenient experience.
To utilize this service, older adults must first enroll in the program before being able to request a ride. Once enrolled, riders can schedule up to 1 roundtrip ride per week, with the requirement of booking rides at least one week in advance. By providing this necessary support, Volunteer Transportation aims to enhance the independence and mobility of older adults, making it easier for them to engage in their communities and maintain their well-being.
