The Public Transportation program offers older adults a convenient and affordable way to access non-emergency medical transportation services. Through this program, riders can schedule private rides in advance, either by a taxi or a car, to their desired destination. Payment options include insurance, vouchers, donations, and Medicaid, with pricing ranging from $3.00 to $5.00 based on the distance traveled. The program also allows for on-demand scheduling, accepts various payment methods such as cash, check, credit card, and pre-payment, making it accessible to older adults with diverse needs.
Additionally, the program provides paratransit services, ensuring that older adults with disabilities receive the necessary assistance during their travels. Riders can benefit from door-to-door transportation, with the option of a driver waiting for them while running errands or attending appointments. Service animals are welcome onboard, and the program offers shared rides for a more cost-effective and eco-friendly transportation option. Whether traveling to medical appointments, social gatherings, or daily errands, the Public Transportation program supports older adults in maintaining their independence and mobility.
