Provides rides for only the following purposes: necessary errands, or medical appointments. It's open to the public and no membership is required.
The Non-Emergency Medical Transportation program offers convenient transportation services for older adults who require non-emergency medical trips. This program allows riders to book rides in advance, typically requiring at least one day's notice, with the option to schedule a few days or even a week ahead. The program utilizes various modes of transportation, such as taxis, cars, buses, trains, and vans, ensuring older adults can access the services they need.
To make payments, riders can use insurance, vouchers, coupons, donations, Medicaid, checks, pre-payment, credit cards, or cash, providing flexibility for individuals with different payment preferences. The pricing for this program is based on a flat fee per mile, starting from the client's location, with no pickup charges in most cities. Additionally, the program offers additional assistance, such as helping riders with packages or bags and allowing service animals on board.
With features like door-to-door transportation, on-demand scheduling, shared rides, and the option for a driver to wait during errands or appointments, the Non-Emergency Medical Transportation program aims to make traveling to medical appointments and other essential destinations as seamless as possible for older adults.
