North Carolina Expanded Medicaid provides low-cost health insurance for people who cannot get coverage through regular Medicaid or private insurance. This program can pay for prescription drugs and cover medical needs such as:

There are several ways to apply.

You can apply online through HealthCare.gov. You can apply by phone or in person with your local Department of Social Services(DSS). You can also fill out a paper application and mail, fax, email or drop off the application to your local DSS office.
