If you have a disability and are working, the Health Benefits for Workers with Disabilities (HBWD) program may provide you with health care benefits. In some situations, working and earning money could prevent you from getting public benefit programs such as Medicaid. HBWD lets you work, keep money in savings, and still get health care coverage. You may have to pay a co-payment for medical services and a monthly premium.
How do I apply?
To apply for this program, print and fill out the application form and mail it to your local Medicaid office. If you have questions, call the Health Benefits for Workers with Disabilities Hotline at 800-226-0768. For TTY, please dial 866-675-8440.
