KV Van is a paratransit program that offers transportation services via specially equipped vans for older adults. Funding for this program is available through various sources such as MaineCare, DHHS, United Way, and other community service programs. In addition to insurance and Medicaid payments, private payment arrangements are also an option for the general public. Riders using KV Van can benefit from scheduled rides that need to be arranged in advance, typically a few days prior. Shared rides are available, allowing multiple passengers to travel together. The program provides door-to-door transportation services, ensuring that older adults can easily access the transportation they need. Payment for rides can be made in cash, making it convenient for riders. Whether it's a medical appointment, grocery shopping, or social outing, KV Van is designed to meet the unique transportation needs of older adults in the community.
