WAVE - Fixed and Scheduled route is a convenient transportation program designed for older adults who prefer organized and predictable travel options. With this program, riders can schedule rides at least one day in advance, providing a reliable and hassle-free way to reach their destinations with ease. This program follows fixed routes, ensuring that riders know exactly where they will be taken, whether it's to run errands, attend appointments, or simply explore the city. One of the key benefits of WAVE is its flexible pricing structure. While some routes have a flat fee, the program offers free service for those enrolled in MaineCare, making it accessible to a wide range of older adults with varying financial circumstances. Additionally, riders have the option to make donations or pre-pay for their trips, with cash being accepted as a form of payment. When utilizing the WAVE program, riders can expect transportation via bus or train, with the convenience of scheduling their rides a few days in advance. Service animals are welcome on board, providing older adults with companionship and support during their travels. By making reservations 24 hours in advance, older adults can ensure a seamless and comfortable journey every time they use the WAVE - Fixed and Scheduled route program.
