The Mobility Shuttle program, launched by Age Friendly Saco, offers a valuable transportation service for older adults residing in Saco. Initially, during the rollout phase, the Shuttle services are provided for free, allowing older adults convenient access to transportation. Following this phase, residents aged 60 and above have the option to purchase an affordable 20-ride punch card for continued use of the service.
Operated through shared van rides following fixed routes, this program ensures that older adults can easily travel within the community. To utilize this complimentary service, riders are required to schedule their transportation at least one week in advance, with a 48-hour notice for booking. Additionally, the Mobility Shuttle program offers door-to-door transportation, catering to the specific needs and convenience of older adults in Saco. With its commitment to providing affordable and accessible transportation, this program serves as a reliable mobility solution for older adults in the area.
