Regional Transportation Program: General fare

Learn More About This Program

Please make sure to contact Regional Transportation Program: General fare to confirm details of their transportation services.

Provides rides for any purpose, to all people, and no membership is required.

The General Fare program offers affordable transportation options for older adults to travel within or between towns at a cost of $2.50 for trips within one town or neighboring towns, and $5 for trips between non-adjoining towns. This program utilizes buses or trains to provide shared rides, allowing older adults to reach their destinations conveniently. Riders need to schedule their rides a few days in advance and can pay for the service using either checks or cash. This program not only ensures older adults have access to transportation but also accommodates service animals, making it easier for individuals with disabilities to travel with their companions. By offering a cost-effective and scheduled transportation service, the General Fare program aims to support older adults in maintaining their independence and staying connected to their communities.

Service Area

For non MaineCare riders, the service area is Portland, South Portland, Westbrook, Falmouth, and Scarborough.
