Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) is a program designed to provide convenient transportation for older adults with non-emergency medical needs. This program is particularly beneficial for those who require transportation to medical appointments but do not need emergency medical services. NEMT accepts payment through insurance, including Medicaid, and also offers the option to pay with credit cards. Participants in the NEMT program can schedule rides in advance, ensuring they have reliable transportation to their medical appointments. It is recommended to schedule transportation for out-of-state appointments at least 7 days in advance, and for general ride requests, at least 2 business days before the appointment. NEMT offers transportation via cars and vans, providing curb-to-curb service for added convenience. For more information about pricing details and to schedule a ride through the NEMT program, individuals can reach out directly for assistance. This program aims to support older adults in accessing necessary medical care by offering accessible and reliable transportation services.
