Please make sure to contact Rivermills Transportation Services: Senior Transportation to confirm details of their transportation services.
Provides rides for only the following purposes: necessary errands, medical appointments, or grocery shopping. Also, you must meet at least one of these criteria: you are 60+ years old. No membership is required.
The Senior Transportation program offers affordable transportation services to older adults through car rides. The program has set prices depending on the destination, with rates ranging from $1 for trips to the Chicopee Senior Center to $4 for locations in Springfield, West Springfield, Holyoke, and South Hadley. Riders can pay for the service in cash, making it convenient for those who prefer not to use electronic payment methods.
To schedule a ride with the Senior Transportation program, older adults are encouraged to call the Transportation Department in advance, preferably at least one week before the desired transportation date. In case there is no immediate answer, individuals can leave a detailed voice message with their name, phone number, and a brief description of their transportation needs. The program ensures that all messages will be returned promptly, no later than the next business day.
This program provides shared rides and offers curb-to-curb transportation, promoting accessibility for older adults who may require assistance getting to their destinations. By combining affordability, convenience, and a customer-focused approach, the Senior Transportation program aims to enhance the mobility and independence of older adults within the community.
