How can this program help me?

The ​Texas Legal Services Center offers the Legal Hotline for Texans to adults aged 60 or older and Medicare beneficiaries. This program can provide you with legal help on certain civil (non-criminal) legal matters, such as:

  • Consumer Law: Get with bankruptcy, debt collection, tax issues, and identity theft.
  • Elder Law: Get help creating a living will, which can document your wishes if you have an illness or injury that prevents you from making sound health or financial choices. You can also get information on your rights to long-term care or assisted living.
  • Family Law: Get help with divorce, child support, an order of protection, or grandparent rights.
    Housing Law: Get help with housing or homeownership issues such as foreclosure, eviction, repairs, and landlord-tenant disagreements.
  • Public Benefits Law: Get help with applying for and recieiving public benefits such as Social Security, Medicaid and Medicare, veteran’s benefits, and unemployment compensation.

To find out if you can get legal services, call 800-622-2520 and choose Option 3.
