Provides rides for only the following purposes: medical appointments, or social or recreational purposes. Also, you must meet at least one of these criteria: you are 60+ years old. No membership is required.
The Transportation Assistance program offers convenient and cost-effective transportation options for older adults in need of travel assistance. To participate, riders are encouraged to make a suggested donation of $2 for each one-way trip, although the program is ultimately free of charge. Utilizing shared van rides, this program ensures that older adults can get to their destinations safely and comfortably, with pickups and drop-offs being made curb-to-curb.
Riders are required to request transportation a few days in advance through the Rides In Advance scheduling service, guaranteeing that their travel needs are accommodated promptly. By fostering a supportive community through the acceptance of donations and shared rides, the Transportation Assistance program strives to enhance the mobility and independence of older adults, enabling them to remain active and engaged in their daily activities.
