The In-Home Care transportation program offers older adults access to non-emergency medical transportation services. Utilizing taxis, public transit, or private cars for transport, this program requires advance scheduling, typically at least a day in advance, to secure a ride. Pricing for rides can vary depending on the services required, so individuals are encouraged to call for a personalized quote. Payment options include insurance, vouchers, donations, membership fees, flat fees, Medicaid, pre-payment, checks, and credit cards. Riders can also pay in cash for their convenience.
Additionally, this program provides various transport options like paratransit services, door-to-door, curb-to-curb, and assistance with packages or bags. The program allows for on-demand scheduling and shared rides, promoting flexibility and cost-effectiveness for older adults. Service animals are permitted, and the program may include features such as waiting for passengers during errands or appointments. It also offers fixed-route services via vans, buses, or trains, ensuring a reliable and comprehensive transportation network for older adults in the community.
