Please make sure to contact Union Council on Aging: Senior Transportation to confirm details of their transportation services.

Provides rides for only the following purposes: necessary errands, medical appointments, or grocery shopping. Also, you must meet at least one of these criteria: you are 60+ years old. No membership is required.

The Senior Transportation program offers convenient and reliable transportation services for older adults in need of non-emergency medical transportation. Riders can schedule private rides via taxi or car by booking in advance, ensuring they reach their destinations safely and on time. Payment options include insurance, vouchers, donations, a membership fee, or a flat fee, with the flexibility to pay using Medicaid, cash, check, or credit card. This paratransit program accommodates riders by providing assistance with packages or bags, allowing service animals onboard, and offering door-to-door transportation services. Whether traveling locally or outside the Parish, older adults can access this program for a suggested donation of $3 for local rides and $5 for trips beyond the area. With the option for on-demand scheduling and shared rides, participants can enjoy the convenience of tailored transportation solutions that suit their needs and preferences.
