The Public Transit program offers reliable and convenient transportation options for older adults. This non-emergency medical transportation program provides access to taxi services for individuals needing to travel within the city or beyond. Riders can schedule rides in advance, with payment options including insurance, vouchers, donations, and a membership fee. The program also accommodates Medicaid payments and accepts various forms of payment including cash, credit card, and pre-payment.
Within the city limits, the pricing for one-way trips is set at $6, slightly increasing to $8 for destinations outside the city limits. Additionally, the program provides paratransit services for those requiring assistance with packages or bags, along with door-to-door transportation for added convenience. Riders can enjoy the flexibility of on-demand scheduling, shared rides, and the option to have the driver wait for them during errands or appointments. Service animals are permitted, and the program ensures a comfortable and inclusive transportation experience for older adults.
