Provides rides for only the following purposes: medical appointments, grocery shopping, or social or recreational purposes. Also, you must meet at least one of these criteria: you are 60+ years old. No membership is required.
Transportation services are available through the Senior Transportation program, offering non-emergency medical transportation for older adults. Participants can arrange for rides via taxi or public transit by scheduling in advance, typically at least one day prior. The program accommodates various payment methods such as insurance, vouchers, donations, and accepts Medicaid. Membership and flat fees may apply, although donations are welcomed, and in some cases, the service is offered at no charge.
Utilizing a mix of taxi services and rideshare options, the program caters to individual and shared rides, providing flexibility in scheduling, including on-demand services. Riders can opt for private rides using cars or vans, with an option for a driver to wait during appointments or errands. Additionally, the program ensures accessibility by offering door-to-door or curb-to-curb transportation, allowing riders to be accompanied by service animals if needed. Fixed routes and paratransit services are also available, granting older adults a range of transportation choices tailored to their needs.
