Provides rides for only the following purposes: necessary errands, medical appointments, or grocery shopping. Also, you must meet at least one of these criteria: you are 60+ years old, or you have a disability. No membership is required.
Catch-a-Ride (CaR) is a transportation program that offers a convenient and affordable way for older adults to get around. Through this program, older adults can request shared rides in vans to reach their destinations. One of the great features of CaR is that there is no cost to the riders, although there is a suggested donation of $5 each way ($10 round trip) to help support the program.
In addition to providing transportation, CaR goes the extra mile by assisting riders with packages or bags and offering curb-to-curb service for added convenience. When using CaR, older adults can also benefit from having a dedicated driver who is willing to wait while they run errands or attend appointments, ensuring a stress-free experience.
To make use of this program, older adults need to schedule their rides at least one week in advance, allowing for proper coordination of transportation services. By participating in Catch-a-Ride, older adults can access a reliable mode of transportation that caters to their needs and promotes independence and mobility in their day-to-day activities.
