This program provides services to help you live comfortably at home if you are blind. Services include:
- Recommendations for other programs and resources
- Lessons on how to get around your house or community with a cane or guide dog
- Support groups
- Tips and training on how to do everyday activities
- New ways to do activities like playing board games, sewing, and reading
- Help with using audio-based equipment and learning Braille
Braille is an alphabet of raised dots that helps people who are blind read.

To find out how to apply, please contact the District of Department on Disability Services. You can email them at dds@dc.gov or call 202-730-1700 (TTY 202-730-1516) Monday to Friday, 8:15 am to 4:45 pm.
