The Transportation Services program offers a convenient and reliable non-emergency medical transportation option for older adults. This program provides transportation through taxis and public transit, offering both private and shared rides using cars, vans, buses, and trains. Riders can schedule their trips in advance, at least one day ahead, with the option to pre-pay using various methods such as insurance, vouchers, coupons, donations, or credit cards. Pricing for this program is set at $2.50 per one-way trip, with additional options for paying a membership fee, a flat fee, or by the mile. In addition to accommodating riders with packages and bags, this paratransit program ensures accessibility by accepting Medicaid payments and allowing service animals on board. For added convenience, older adults using this program can enjoy on-demand scheduling, where they can request a driver to wait for them during errands or appointments. Door-to-door and curb-to-curb transportation services are available, following fixed routes and predetermined schedules. Overall, the Transportation Services program prioritizes the mobility needs of older adults, offering a safe and efficient transportation solution for their daily travels.
