Provides rides for only the following purposes: necessary errands, medical appointments, or grocery shopping. Also, you must meet at least one of these criteria: you are 60+ years old. No membership is required.
The Transportation Assistance program offers reliable non-emergency medical transportation services for older adults, ensuring they can access essential healthcare visits and services with ease. This program primarily utilizes taxis for transportation, making it convenient and flexible for older adults to schedule rides at least one day in advance. The program accepts various forms of payment, including insurance, vouchers, donations, and Medicaid payments, ensuring affordability and accessibility for older adults with different financial situations.
For in-town trips, the program suggests a donation of $4 per trip, with an additional $2 for each extra stop, making it cost-effective for older adults to travel within the city. Out-of-town trips are priced based on mileage, providing a fair pricing structure. Additionally, the program offers paratransit services, assisting riders with packages or bags, and providing door-to-door and curb-to-curb transportation, accommodating older adults with mobility challenges.
Furthermore, the program allows for on-demand scheduling, enabling older adults to arrange transportation as needed, and offers shared rides to optimize efficiency and reduce costs. With a focus on convenience and accessibility, the Transportation Assistance program ensures that older adults can travel safely and independently to meet their transportation needs.
