Public Transportation is a versatile transportation program tailored to older adults who require non-emergency medical transportation services. This program offers convenient options such as taxi rides, private car transportation, and even paratransit services through bus or train. Riders have the flexibility to schedule their rides in advance, ranging from same-day to a few days or even a week prior.
The pricing structure is designed to be accessible, with a flat fee per trip, offering affordability at $2 for a one-way ride and $4 for a round trip. Older adults can take advantage of senior travel benefits at no charge, with the option to contribute donations if desired. Payments can be made through various methods, including insurance, vouchers, coupons, credit cards, checks, or cash.
Moreover, Public Transportation ensures a comfortable and accommodating experience for older adults by offering door-to-door or curb-to-curb transportation services. Service animals are welcomed onboard, and the program also provides assistance with packages or bags as needed. With the option for shared rides or private transportation, as well as the convenience of on-demand scheduling, Public Transportation strives to meet the diverse transportation needs of older adults while prioritizing their safety and convenience.
