Dial-A-Ride is a community transportation program that offers convenient and accessible rides to individuals in need of transportation assistance. This program welcomes donations to support its services. Pricing for a one-way fare is $1, and while older adults aged 60 and above are not obligated to pay, voluntary donations are encouraged to help sustain the program. Additionally, children aged 5 and younger can ride for free when accompanied by a paying adult. Dial-A-Ride provides paratransit services to accommodate individuals with disabilities or mobility challenges. Riders are required to schedule their trips in advance, with a recommended notice of a few days to ensure timely transportation arrangements. Payments for the service can be made by check or in cash, offering flexibility for riders. When requesting a ride through Dial-A-Ride, riders can benefit from the Rides In Advance program, which allows for smoother and more efficient scheduling. This program offers curb-to-curb transportation, ensuring that older adults and individuals with special needs can easily access the services they require. By utilizing Dial-A-Ride, older adults can maintain their independence and mobility, allowing them to participate in various activities and access essential services within their community.
