The Public Transportation program is a convenient and reliable non-emergency medical transportation service tailored for older adults. Utilizing this program, older adults can access transportation through taxis for medical appointments, errands, or social outings. The program operates as a public transit service, offering flexibility in scheduling rides at least one day in advance.
Participants have various payment options including insurance, vouchers, coupons, donations, or membership fees. The fare structure is designed to be accessible, with in-town one-way fares set at $2 for individuals aged 60 and above. There are also cost-saving options like a 6-ride ticket for $18 or a 12-ride ticket for $18, providing affordability and convenience for frequent travelers.
Moreover, the program offers additional support such as paratransit services for those with mobility challenges, allowing for door-to-door transportation. Riders can rely on the program for shared rides, on-demand scheduling, and transportation via cars or vans. With a commitment to providing safe and accommodating services, the Public Transportation program ensures older adults can maintain their independence and stay connected to their communities.
