The Subsidized Taxi Service program offers transportation through taxi services in various cities including Glenwood, Harlan, Missouri Valley, Red Oak, and Shenandoah. Older adults can benefit from a discounted fare of $2.75 per trip, while the standard fare for non-older adult riders is $4.25 per trip. In Atlantic, discounted taxi tickets are available for $4.25 each for older adults aged 65 and above, as well as for individuals with disabilities. Riders under this program are required to schedule their trips in advance, allowing for efficient planning and coordination of transportation needs. Payment for the service can be made either by check or in cash, providing flexibility for older adults using the program. Curb-to-curb transportation is offered, ensuring convenience and ease of access for riders. Additionally, older adult passengers are allowed to travel with their service animals, promoting inclusivity and accommodating various needs.
