BadgerCare Plus is a health care coverage program for low-income Wisconsin residents who can’t afford private insurance and are not covered under another ForwardHealth Plan, such as Medicaid for the Elderly, Blind, or Disabled.
The program pays for medical services, such as:
- Visits to health care providers, including physicians and nurse practitioners
- Inpatient and outpatient hospital services
- Prescription drug coverage (in certain cases)
- Lab tests
- X-rays
- Family planning services
To get program benefits, you should go to a health care provider who participates in the program. In some cases, there may be a copay.
