The Bureau of Blindness and Visual Services can provide you with information and services to help you remain independent if you are blind or have low vision. There are different services and programs offered that help you continue living and working independently in your community, such as:

  • Vocational Rehabilitation Program: This program helps you prepare for employment or keep the job you have.
  • Rehabilitation Teaching: This service teaches you how to safely complete daily activities at home, on the job, and in your community. This can include cooking, home repair, and reading and writing in Braille.
  • Orientation and Mobility Instruction: This service helps you learn to move independently in your home, workplace, and community.
  • Randolph-Sheppard Business Enterprise Program: This program provides you with employment opportunities in the food-service business.
