The Public Transit program offers convenient and affordable transportation options for older adults residing within the county. For one-way trips spanning 0-10 miles, riders can enjoy a flat fee of $3.00, with a special 50% discount applicable to riders aged 60 and above. Longer trips exceeding 10 miles, or those that extend outside the county, are calculated at a base rate of $3.00 plus ¢.50 per mile for each one-way journey. Participants in this program have the flexibility to travel via bus or train and are required to schedule their rides in advance, ensuring efficient planning and coordination. Payment for services can be conveniently made in advance, either through credit card transactions or in cash. Moreover, the program provides curb-to-curb transportation, focusing on delivering a seamless and reliable travel experience for older adults in the community.
