Provides rides for any purpose, to all people, and no membership is required.

The Public Transportation program offers convenient and reliable transportation services for individuals looking to travel within and outside the county. This non-emergency medical transportation program primarily uses taxis to provide rides, ensuring older adults have access to essential medical appointments, errands, and social outings. With the option to schedule rides in advance, riders can easily plan their trips and enjoy the flexibility of on-demand scheduling as well. Riders can take advantage of the program's affordable pricing, which includes a flat fee of $3.00 per one-way trip for distances up to 10 miles within the county. Trips exceeding 10 miles or those that extend beyond county borders are priced at a base rate of $3.00 plus 50 cents per mile. Additionally, the program accepts various forms of payment, including insurance, vouchers, donations, and Medicaid, making it accessible to a wide range of individuals. Not only does the Public Transportation program prioritize safety and comfort by offering private rides with professional drivers, but it also accommodates additional needs such as package assistance and service animal companionship. Whether older adults require door-to-door, curb-to-curb, or shared transportation services, this program strives to meet their diverse mobility needs while promoting independence and community engagement.
