Provides rides for only the following purposes: necessary errands, medical appointments, or grocery shopping. Also, you must meet at least one of these criteria: you are 65+ years old, you have a disability, or you have no other means of transportation. No membership is required.
The Rides Program is a flexible transportation service designed to cater to the needs of older adults who require assistance with getting to medical appointments, running errands, or attending social engagements. Operating as a non-emergency medical transportation program, Rides Program offers older adults the convenience of traveling via taxi, ensuring a comfortable and reliable means of commuting. This public transit program allows participants to schedule rides in advance, with the option to access transportation with as little as one day's notice.
One of the key features of the Rides Program is its affordability and accessibility. Participants have the choice of paying for services through insurance, vouchers, donations, membership fees, or flat fees. Moreover, the program offers a generous benefit of two free rides per month within a ten-mile radius of the rider's residence, providing a cost-effective solution for regular transportation needs. With the option to make Medicaid payments or pre-pay for services, the Rides Program ensures that older adults can conveniently access the transportation they require.
To enhance the overall experience, the Rides Program offers additional amenities such as paratransit services, assistance with packages or bags, and the option to travel in private cars or vans. The program also accommodates varying scheduling needs, allowing riders to book rides in advance or opt for on-demand services when necessary. With a focus on providing door-to-door or curb-to-curb transportation, the Rides Program prioritizes the comfort and safety of older adults, ensuring a reliable and supportive transportation solution for their diverse needs.
