Companion Services is a comprehensive transportation program designed to provide convenient and reliable non-emergency medical transportation for older adults. This program offers various features to cater to the specific needs of its users. Riders can schedule rides in advance, ensuring they have transportation when needed. The program operates through a network of taxis and public transit, with options for private rides via car or van available. One of the standout features of Companion Services is its flexibility in payment methods. Riders can pay via insurance, vouchers, coupons, donations, Medicaid, credit card, check, or cash, making it accessible to a wide range of individuals. Pricing for the services is transparent, with a starting rate of $17.00 per hour and a 2-hour minimum, along with a per-mile charge if using a caregiver's vehicle. In addition to traditional transportation services, Companion Services also offers paratransit options, door-to-door transportation, and the ability to bring service animals on rides. The program aims to make transportation easy and stress-free for older adults, ensuring they can get to appointments, run errands, or socialize with ease.
