Please make sure to contact Hillsborough County: Sunshine Line to confirm details of their transportation services.

Provides rides for only the following purposes: necessary errands, medical appointments, or grocery shopping. Also, you must meet at least one of these criteria: you have a disability, or you have no other means of transportation. No membership is required.

The Sunshine Line program offers an hourly rate non-emergency medical transportation service for older adults, providing access to transportation via taxi. This public transit program requires riders to schedule their rides at least one day in advance and offers various payment options, including insurance, vouchers, donations, and Medicaid payments. The pricing for this program is fee-based, with costs potentially up to $5.00 one way depending on eligibility and funding sources. In addition to individual private rides, Sunshine Line also provides shared transportation services, including door-to-door and curb-to-curb options, delivering older adults to their destinations safely and conveniently. Riders can expect to receive assistance with packages or bags and are permitted to bring service animals along on their journeys. With the flexibility of on-demand scheduling and the option for a driver to wait while passengers run errands or attend appointments, this paratransit program ensures that older adults can maintain their independence and mobility within the community.
