Learn More About This Program

Please make sure to contact FISH of North Port: Volunteer Transportation to confirm details of their transportation services.

Provides rides for only the following purposes: medical appointments, or grocery shopping. Also, you must meet at least one of these criteria: you are 60+ years old. No membership is required.

The Volunteer Transportation program offers convenient and reliable rides to older adults who may have difficulty accessing traditional transportation options. Through the generosity of volunteer drivers, this program provides door-to-door transportation services using private vehicles. While the program is free of charge, donations are encouraged to support its sustainability. Riders can book rides for various purposes, such as medical appointments, grocery shopping, or social outings, and volunteers are often willing to assist passengers with carrying packages or bags. To ensure a smooth experience, riders are encouraged to schedule their trips at least a few days in advance. By utilizing the Rides In Advance feature, older adults can plan their transportation needs efficiently and enjoy the independence and flexibility that the Volunteer Transportation program offers.
