Public Transportation is a convenient and affordable transit program tailored to meet the needs of older adults, individuals with disabilities, Medicare card holders, active duty, and military veterans. With a standard fare of $1.50 per trip, qualified riders, including seniors over 60, disabled individuals, and Medicare card holders, can enjoy a discounted fare of $0.75. Those aged over 80 can ride for free, making it accessible for all older adults to travel around the city. In addition to individual trip fares, the program offers daily and monthly bus passes for frequent travelers, providing flexibility and cost savings. Payment methods include checks, pre-payment, credit card transactions, and cash for added convenience. Riders can expect reliable transportation services that adhere to fixed routes, ensuring they reach their destinations efficiently and safely. Furthermore, Public Transportation offers shared rides and curb-to-curb transportation, accommodating those who may require additional assistance. Service animals are welcome on board, and scheduling rides is made easy with fixed schedules in place. By participating in this program, older adults can maintain their independence, stay connected with their community, and access essential services with ease.
