What Is the Ohio Homestead Water Rate Discount?
The Ohio Homestead Water Rate Discount is a special program from Cleveland Water that lowers the amount you pay on your water bill. It gives a discount on both the fixed monthly charge and the amount you pay for water use.
This program is meant to help those who may be on a fixed income or need extra support. Once enrolled, the program eligibility period is good for 3 years, after which a renewal application is required.
Am I Eligible for the Ohio Homestead Water Rate Discount?
To qualify for the Ohio Homestead Water Rate Discount, you must meet all of the following:
- You are 65 or older or are totally and permanently disabled
- You own and live at the home where you receive the water bill
- Your income meets the program guidelines
How Do I Apply for the Ohio Homestead Water Rate Discount?
To apply, you must fill out and send in a Homestead Discount application. You can download and print the application here:
Once you have completed your application, mail it to:

Once approved, your discount will last for 3 years. Cleveland Water will send you a reminder when it’s time to renew your application.
