What are New Jersey State Park Senior Citizen and Disability Passes?
If you live in New Jersey and are 62 or older or have a disability, you may qualify for a New Jersey State Park Senior Citizen Pass or Disability Pass. These passes give free entry to all 43 New Jersey state parks, forests, and recreation areas, plus 57 historic sites. You’ll also get $2 off camping fees.
The Senior Citizen Pass is good for life and the Disability Pass is valid for as long as you continue to have a qualifying disability.
Am I eligible for a New Jersey State Park Senior Citizen or Disability Pass?
You must meet certain requirements based on which pass you're applying for.
Senior Citizen Pass
To be eligible for the Senior Citizen Pass, you:
- Must live in New Jersey
- Must be 62 or older
Disability Pass
To be eligible for the Disability Pass, you:
- Must live in New Jersey
- Must have a temporary or permanent disability
How do I apply for a New Jersey State Park Senior Citizen or Disability Pass?
To apply, you need to fill out a paper application. You can find it on the New Jersey State Park Service website or download it here:
If applying for a Senior Citizen Pass, you must Include proof of your age and proof that you live in New Jersey. This can be a copy of your New Jersey driver’s license or a government-issued photo ID showing your age and New Jersey address.
If applying for a Disability Pass, you must Include proof that you live in New Jersey, such as a New Jersey driver’s license or government-issued ID, and proof of your disability. This can include:
- Social Security Disability Certificate
- Supplemental Security Income (SSI) letter
- Medical certification form (included in the application), filled out and signed by your doctor
