North Carolina state parks offer fee discounts to older adults, veterans, and military members to help make outdoor experiences more affordable.

What are North Carolina state parks discounted fees?

North Carolina offers a state park $6 per night discount on certain campsite reservations for adults age 62 and above, veterans, and active military members. This discount does not apply to primitive or group campsites, vacation cabins, or facility rentals. However, it can be used for marina slip rentals at Carolina Beach State Park and reduced entrance fees at Falls Lake, Jordan Lake, and Kerr Lake state recreation areas.

The discount does not apply to activity fees or special permits.

Am I eligible for a discounted fee?

You may qualify for North Carolina state parks discounted fees if you are:

  • 62 years or older (bring a valid photo ID that shows your birthdate)
  • A veteran or active-duty military member (bring proof of service)

How do I receive a North Carolina state park discounted fee?

To get your discount:

  • Book your campsite or marina slip as usual
  • When you arrive, show your ID or proof of service at check-in
  • Staff will apply the discount at that time
