Dial-A-Ride is a convenient transportation program designed to assist older adults with their mobility needs. This program offers transportation services through taxis, allowing older adults to travel to various destinations within the community. One of the key benefits of Dial-A-Ride is that it is free of charge, making it an accessible option for those looking for affordable transportation solutions. To utilize Dial-A-Ride, older adults are required to schedule their rides in advance, typically a few days ahead of their desired trip. Scheduling can be done during regular business hours, with the option to request weekend and Monday trips by Friday no later than 2 p.m. This advance scheduling system ensures that older adults can efficiently plan their transportation needs and secure reliable rides. Additionally, Dial-A-Ride offers curb-to-curb transportation, meaning that older adults will be picked up and dropped off directly at their specified locations. This feature enhances the overall convenience and accessibility of the program, providing older adults with a safe and efficient way to travel within the community.
